Please note all classes have been cancelled until further notice due to the coronavirus. If however, you are a member of Ladbroke Art Group or Kineton Art Group, there is a Facebook page you can join if you’re a member. Please have fun sharing your work there!
I am available to teach in a number of capacities including: to art groups for demonstrations and workshops, in schools, and tutoring art groups on a more regular basis. If you’d like to enquire about tuition for you, your school, or your art group then please contact me through the contact page on this site.
This year (March 2020) I started my own evening art class, which runs from 7pm-9pm at Ladbroke Village Hall. At the moment we have around 8 members, sometimes 10, and could fit a couple more in. If you’re interested, please contact me to register via email at email@example.com.
Currently I teach an art group of around 14 members in Evesham on a weekly basis. I took over from their previous tutor in January 2019, and so far we have enjoyed learning to use a range of materials, portraiture, painting trees, and perspective. The members watch a short demonstration at the start of the session, and then spend the rest of the session either on their own work (often applying what was demonstrated) or practising an exercise I have put together. If you think I could help your art group, please feel free to contact me.
Each week I run three art groups at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury: My Art, Little Artists, and Monday Makers. I run the My Art sessions, which are for 6-10 year olds, on Thursdays from 4-5:30pm, and Little Artists for 0-5 year olds on a Thursday morning 10:30-11:30am. I also deliver sessions for the Monday Makers for over 50s from 3-4:30pm. All three groups experience a range of arts and crafts, from drawing and painting to sculpting with clay and wire. Contact The Mill Arts Centre for many more classes available across the arts, from the visual arts to the dramatics. This is the website: http://www.themillartscentre.co.uk
I demonstrate my process for creating pieces, and model new techniques that I have discovered though my own explorations and experiments when asked, to art groups. Usually these demonstrations last around 2 and a half hours with a short break half way through. Typically the demonstrations cost £150. Please contact me for further information if you think your art group would be interested.
Depending on the students and the subject of the workshop, the length of the workshop may be 3 to 6 hours long with a break or two. A 6 hour long workshop typically costs £250. So far, workshops have been organised with art groups who have asked for particular subjects such as painting in oils and lino printing, or further insight into new materials I have experimented with in a demonstration. However, I do plan to hold some of my own workshops, so look out for them on this site! If you would like to enquire about a workshop, please contact me.
I am a fully qualified Primary School teacher and taught full time for four years. I continue to work in primary schools, sometimes as a standard supply teacher and sometimes as an artist. When I teach as an artist, I plan and deliver art projects with the children, from lessons in mastering art techniques and colour theory to challenging projects such as large installations created by the children for the school. So far these large projects have included: sculpture, making tiles, hanging pieces, and murals. If your school could be interested in me working with them, please pass on my details or contact me via the contact page.
